The 40-day memorial service for Giorgos Mazonakis will be held on Sunday, October 18, at the Holy Trinity Church in Nice, in a ceremony dedicated to the memory of the singer who passed away at the age of 54.
Relatives, close friends, and fans are expected to gather at the church to honor his memory.

According to what Tasos Tergiakis reported on the show “To Proino,” the gathering is scheduled for 9:30 a.m., after the service, followed by a memorial service at the artist’s grave in the Third Cemetery.
Security measures and the presence of fans
As mentioned on the show, security measures similar to those taken during the singer’s funeral will be implemented, with the aim of ensuring the ceremony proceeds smoothly and accommodating those who wish to attend.
Inside the Church of the Holy Trinity, people from Giorgos Mazonakis’s close family and personal circle are expected to be present. His fans—who, according to the same sources, may number around 5,000—will be able to follow the service from outside the church via loudspeakers.
This arrangement is intended to allow as many people as possible to participate in the memorial service while maintaining the necessary order at the site.
The Trisagio at the Third Cemetery
Following the ceremony at Agia Triada, a memorial service will be held at the singer’s grave in the Third Cemetery. This will be the second stop of the day for those who wish to pay their respects.
Nikaia, a place closely tied to the artist’s life and personal history, is expected to draw people who followed him at different stages of his career. For many, their presence will be a way to express their appreciation and love for a singer who left his own mark on Greek folk music.
