The Greek arts community remains in shock over the loss of Giorgos Mazonakis, who passed away at the age of 54 following a cardiac arrest. Twenty-four hours after his death, attention is now focused on the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident, as well as on the details of his funeral.
The singer’s family wishes for his body to be transported to Nice, his birthplace, and buried at the Third Cemetery of Athens. However, the exact date and time of the funeral service have not yet been announced.

As revealed to MEGA and Evangelatos by Giorgos Mazonakis’s attorney, Charalambos Lykoudis, the funeral may even take place tomorrow, Friday, September 11. The final decisions, however, are expected to be made after the autopsy is completed.
