Emotion and deep sorrow prevailed on the evening of Sunday, September 13, outside the Holy Church of the Holy Trinity in Nikaia, where the body of Giorgos Mazonakis was brought shortly after 7:30 p.m.
The body of the beloved singer will remain in the church throughout the night as part of a “public vigil.”
The church doors will remain open until the early hours of Monday morning so that relatives, friends, colleagues, and fans to have the opportunity to say goodbye and pay their respects.
From early afternoon, the area around the church filled with people. Thousands of Giorgos Mazonakis’s fans, regardless of age, gathered in Nikaia, wanting to say their final “goodbye” to the artist who left his own unique mark on the Greek music scene.
