The mood has been somber in recent days following the news of the death of Giorgos Mazonakis, an artist who for decades was a distinctive presence on the Greek music scene.
His passing has deeply moved the public as well as the artistic community, as his songs have become intertwined with the moments and memories of thousands of people.

The tragic incident occurred last Wednesday, when the popular singer was at the private Stem Cell clinic in Kolonaki to undergo plasmapheresis.
A few hours later, his condition deteriorated dramatically when he suffered a cardiac arrest. He was immediately transported to Elpis Hospital, where he was found to have no pulse. Doctors fought to revive him for about an hour, but at 5:40 p.m., he was pronounced dead.
