Amid a deeply emotional atmosphere, the political funeral of Margarita Papandreou took place today, Sunday, September 20, at the First Cemetery of Athens, the state funeral of Margarita Papandreou, who passed away on Friday at the age of 103.
Relatives, friends, figures from politics and public life attended the ceremony to bid farewell to a woman who, for decades, was associated with significant social and political developments, as well as with the struggles for women’s rights. She was an author, an activist, and one of the leading figures of the Greek women’s movement.
