Nikos Kalogeropoulos passed away on Sunday, August 9, at the age of 74, leaving behind much more than just an extensive filmography.
An actor, director, screenwriter, poet, and songwriter, he was a creator who never sought the safety of a conventional path. His presence in Greek cinema was so powerful precisely because it was so personal.
His performances weren’t just roles; they embodied something of the man himself—his independence, his sense of humor, his spirit of questioning—as well as a deep need to remain authentic.
