Today was supposed to be dedicated to music, the stage, and an artistic career spanning 33 years. At Technopolis, organized by the City of Athens, Giorgos Mazonakis was set to meet his audience for a major anniversary concert titled “33 Years from A to Z,” a retrospective of his long career in Greek music.
The event, however, would never take place. Giorgos Mazonakis passed away on September 9, at the age of 54, just eleven days before the concert he had planned for today.

Among those who chose to honor his memory is Vasileios Kostetsos. The well-known fashion designer, who was also personally close to the singer, made a particularly moving post, while also looking back on a very different era—the early days of the then-young Giorgos Mazonakis.
