The bag is packed. The clothes were laid out the night before. The water bottle is in its place, and the alarm clock is set a little earlier than usual. Everything seems organized. Except there’s one small problem: no one can plan ahead for the feelings of the first day of school.
For a child walking through the doors of kindergarten or school for the first time, this day means a whole new world. New people, unfamiliar surroundings, rules, children they don’t know—and perhaps the hardest part of all, being away from Mom and Dad for a few hours.
