A new trend that started abroad has gone viral in recent days, with users and celebrities turning to artificial intelligence to transform their modern photos into retro portraits inspired by the ’80s aesthetic.

The concept is simple but incredibly fun, as a modern photo is transformed, through AI, into a version of ourselves as we might have been captured about four decades ago. Voluminous hairstyles, signature looks, vintage styling, and the unmistakable aesthetic of the ’80s are making a comeback through a modern digital lens.
It didn’t take long for this new viral trend to reach Cyprus, with well-known figures trying out the retro AI effect and sharing the results on social media.
