The mood is somber for the family of Giorgos Mazonakis following the news of the popular singer’s death; he passed away at the age of 54, on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 9.
According to the official statement from Elpis Hospital, Giorgos Mazonakis was transported at 4:45 p.m. by an EKAB ambulance, not breathing on his own and with no pulse. Despite efforts at cardiopulmonary resuscitation, it was not possible to revive him, and the official time of death was recorded as 5:40 p.m.

Within a short time, the singer’s relatives rushed to the hospital. Among them were his sisters, Maria and Vasso Mazonaki, who found themselves facing a particularly difficult and emotional moment.
