An incident of domestic violence occurred last night in Heraklion, in which a 72-year-old man was injured following an attack that, according to reports, was carried out by his 32-year-old son.
The incident took place around 10 p.m. at the 32-year-old’s home. According to neakriti, the son had asked his father to come over and give him money so he could buy drugs. The 72-year-old, who initially did not know why he had been asked to come to the house, refused to give him money once he realized the reason.

At that point, the 32-year-old, who was reportedly under the influence of drugs, struck his father in the head. The 72-year-old fell to the floor and was injured.
The Heraklion Police Department and the relevant Domestic Violence Office were notified of the incident. Police officers went to the scene and arrested the 32-year-old.
According to reports, the father did not want his son to be arrested. The arrest was made ex officio, as required in cases of domestic violence.
