Police officers from the Cybercrime Division arrested a 52-year-old gynecologist accused of child pornography.
According to reports, the U.S.-based National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) alerted the Hellenic Police’s Cybercrime Division by providing information, according to which a user had uploaded child sexual abuse material to an online storage service.
The required digital analysis and online investigation followed, and as a result, police officers traced the accused, whose identity was confirmed, and determined his place of residenceresidence.
During a search conducted at noon on Thursday at the accused’s home and medical office, a cell phone, a computer hard drive, a laptop, a tablet, and a microSD memory card. The search revealed that the defendant managed the account in question on the online storage service, and hundreds of photo and video files were found stored there, containing material depicting the sexual abuse of minors, including minors who appeared to be under the ages of 15 and 12.
It should be noted that, according to police sources, the production of original child pornography has not been confirmed.
The accused was arrested in the course of a flagrante delicto arrest and brought before the prosecutor. The seized digital evidence is being examined by the Criminal Investigations Directorate.

On Thursday, October 8, 2026, in Attica, the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate arrested a 52-year-old Greek national, against whom a case file was compiled under summary proceedings for child pornography.
This followed the appropriate analysis of information provided by the U.S.-based National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), according to which a user had uploaded material depicting the sexual abuse of minors to an online storage service. This was followed by digital analysis and an online investigation, through which the accused’s full identity was established and his place of residence was verified.

: During a search conducted at noon on October 8, 2026, at the aforementioned residence as well as at the defendant’s place of business, the following items were found and seized: a cell phone, a computer hard drive, a laptop, a tablet, and a microSD memory card.
The subsequent investigation revealed that the defendant managed the account in question on the online storage service, while hundreds of photo and video files were found stored locally, containing material depicting the sexual abuse of minors, including minors who appeared to be under the ages of 15 and 12.
In light of the above, the defendant was arrested under the flagrante delicto procedure. The suspect was brought before the competent prosecutor’s office, while the seized digital evidence is being sent to the Criminal Investigation Directorate for laboratory analysis.
