Greek Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis is among the thousands of people in attendance at the funeral of Giorgos Mazonakis.
Adonis Georgiadis arrived at the Holy Trinity Church in Nikaia around 1:00 p.m., and in his remarks, he apologized that the healthcare system was unable to save the artist.

“My condolences to the family of Giorgos Mazonakis, and I apologize that the system was unable to protect him from something terrible. We’ll figure out the rest in the coming days.”
He added that “we certainly need to identify the gaps in the system. We need to find out what went wrong.”
