An intoxicated passenger caused a disturbance during a flight, resulting in the aircraft operating the route from Newcastle-Heraklion, Crete, to make an emergency landing at “Macedonia” Airport.
According to reports, the incident occurred yesterday (August 30) shortly after 11 p.m., when the 42-year-old British passenger, who was visibly intoxicated, began causing a disturbance and behaving aggressively toward the crew and his fellow passengers.
The man was arrested for dangerous interference with fixed-track transportation, ships, and aircraft; disobeying the captain’s orders; and disturbing the peace as defined by the Aviation Code, and is expected to be brought before the competent judicial authorities.
