New evidence has emerged in the double murder case in Aigio, where a 54-year-old mother and her 26-year-old son were found dead inside their home. So far, the main suspect in their murders—who is currently in custody—is the woman’s Italian partner. After reviewing the evidence, police are now also considering the possibility that the 54-year-old first killed her son and then took her own life.
A key piece of evidence supporting this conclusion is the fact that the stab wound to the 54-year-old’s back, which was initially mentioned, appears to be disputed by the forensic report.
It should be noted that the woman was struggling with mental health issues, and her son had returned from Berlin to convince her to seek help from a psychiatrist.
Reports also indicate that she had been urged to be admitted to the Psychiatric Clinic at the University Hospital of Patras, but she refused, and her Italian partner then informed the 26-year-old that the situation was difficult and that he could not convince her that she needed help.
