A 13-year-old girl was the victim of an assault on Friday at noon in Ambelokipi, Thessaloniki.

According to reports, the 13-year-old was with a friend near the neighborhood playgrounds when a group of minors approached them. It appears that two of the girls then attacked her with kicks and punches, causing her to be injured and taken to the Evosmos Health Center. In fact, due to the blows she sustained, doctors advised her to go to a hospital for further examination.
The reason for the attack has not been clarified; however, it is believed to be a case of romantic jealousy.
Police officers from the Ampelokipi–Menemeni Precinct have taken over the investigation of the incident, though the individuals involved in the attack have not yet been identified.
