The Turkish Ministry of National Defense issued a statement in response to remarks made by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis regarding a casus belli.

The statement notes that “Turkey supports the maintenance of peace and stability in the region, as well as the resolution of existing issues through constructive dialogue and good-neighborly relations”.

At the same time, the Turkish Ministry notes that “avoiding rhetoric that could lead to an escalation of tensions will contribute positively to bilateral relations.” Finally, it states that “the Turkish Armed Forces do not pose a threat to anyone who does not pose a threat to them.”
