The Hellenic Police arrested two individuals following an incident that occurred last night in an apartment in the area of the Old Thessaloniki Railway Station. One police officer was injured during the arrest operation, and a quantity of cocaine was found in the apartment.

According to the police, it all began when officers from the Crime Prevention and Suppression Division were called to the apartment following a report to the Emergency Response Center regarding an altercation between tenants.

Inside the apartment, they found a 33-year-old Greek national and a 30-year-old Albanian national. According to the first man’s account, an altercation had taken place earlier, during which the second man threatened him with a knife.

While officers were attempting to subdue him, the 30-year-old reportedly put up fierce resistance, punching and kicking the officers while threatening them. One police officer was injured in the incident and was transported to the 424th General Military Hospital to receive first aid.

During a subsequent search of the apartment, a makeshift package containing 13.8 grams of cocaine was found and seized. Both suspects are jointly charged with possession of the narcotic substance.

The case file was compiled by officers from the White Tower Crime Investigation and Prosecution Division, and the suspects are being brought before the competent prosecutor.
