A serious incident occurred at a gas station in Voula when, following an argument between an employee and a 92-year-old man, the employee doused the elderly man with gasoline.
The unbelievable incident took place shortly before 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at a gas station located on K. Karamanlis Avenue.
The 52-year-old employee filled the 92-year-old’s jerrycan with gasoline, and when it came time to pay, the elderly man realized he didn’t have enough money on him. So he told the employee that he would not be buying the gasoline after all. The employee then reacted angrily and began shouting that he had already printed a receipt, which he could not cancel.
The 92-year-old, for his part, insisted that he could not proceed with the payment, and when he tried to leave, the 52-year-old allegedly followed him and doused him with the gasoline he had put in the can. According to reports, the 92-year-old was doused with the fuel on his face and body.
Officers from the DI.AS. Unit, who were notified and went to the scene, arrested the gas station employee and took him to the Varis-Voula-Vouliagmeni Police Station.
He was charged with causing serious bodily harm.
