Police officers arrested a 55-year-old man in the Tsoukalaiika neighborhood of Patras, following a complaint from a woman that he had stolen her cell phone after allegedly posing as a police officer.
According to reports by the local website tempo24.news, the incident occurred when the woman got off a city bus at a stop in the area.
The 55-year-old man allegedly approached her and, pretending to be a police officer, took her cell phone.
The woman notified the authorities, who immediately launched a search to locate the man.
Police officers managed to locate him at a local church, where, according to the same reports, he had entered while a wedding was in progress, in an attempt to avoid arrest.
The police proceeded to arrest him, and the woman’s cell phone was found in his possession and confiscated.
