“Regarding his definite candidacy in the upcoming parliamentary elections with a political party, he will hold a press conference after his release from prison, in order to prevent the spread of unfounded rumors,” she stated in her announcement.
Her statement in full:
“In my capacity as the defense attorney for Ilias Kasidiaris, I hereby inform you that his release from the Domokos Detention Center will take place on September 15, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. Mr. Kasidiaris is the only Greek prisoner to be released after having served his ENTIRE sentence, without a final conviction.
In a state governed by the rule of law, this constitutes a breach and a blow to human rights and the presumption of innocence, which remains in effect.
As for his confirmed candidacy in the upcoming parliamentary elections with a political party, he will hold a press conference after his release from prison, in order to prevent the spread of unfounded rumors.
With esteem and respect
, Vasso Pantazi.”
