Two men were arrested by the police; according to according to the Northeast Attica Crime Investigation and Prosecution Sub-Directorate, were committing thefts at electronics stores. So far, 10 thefts have been solved, with 3 of them having been committed on the same day, and the illicit financial gain exceeding 9,000 euros.
More specifically, the two suspects, aged 46 and 38, were arrested inside a technology store in the Metamorphosis neighborhood. Charges were filed against them for being part of a gang that commits grand theft as a profession.

According to information released by the Hellenic Police, as part of an investigation into reported cases of thefts of electronic products from technology stores in areas of Attica, and following a comprehensive evaluation of information and evidence, the two defendants were located on the afternoon of last Tuesday at a technology store in the Metamorphosis area, and their criminal activity was confirmed; according to the evidence, this activity is estimated to have begun last April. Shortly before that, they had attempted to steal electronic products from the aforementioned electronics store in the Metamorphosis neighborhood. Upon their arrest, a specially designed bag was found in their possession and confiscated; it was designed so that the stolen items inside would not trigger the stores’ automatic security systems.
As revealed by the preliminary investigation conducted by the Northeast Attica Crime Prosecution and Investigation Sub-Directorate, the perpetrators would locate electronics stores and enter them during business hours. They would then, pretending to be customers, place the stores’ merchandise into a specially designed bag and leave without triggering the stores’ automatic security systems.
In fact, as the investigation revealed, one store had been targeted by them four times.
The suspects were brought before the prosecutor.
