A doctor and paramedics from the Thessaloniki EKAB rushed to the scene of a cardiac arrest involving a 61-year-old man today, Wednesday (July 22), and their response is believed to have saved the man’s life.
According to a related announcement, the man was at his home in eastern Thessaloniki, where cardiopulmonary resuscitation was immediately administered, an automated external defibrillator, and a mechanical chest compression device.

The patient was intubated at the scene, and advanced life support was provided in accordance with international protocols for the management of cardiac arrest.
The patient regained spontaneous circulation and, once stabilized, was safely transported to the on-call hospital for further treatment.
A conventional ambulance and a Mobile Medical Unit—a total of four paramedics and one EKAB physician—responded to the incident.
