Firefighting efforts are being continuously reinforced at the fire in Kouvaras, which broke out in low vegetation today, August 10, 2026, at approximately 8:00 a.m., and which is currently in full swing.
According to information from the fire department so far, the flames have caused damage to two businesses on the outskirts of the village of Agios Stylianos, the extent of which will be assessed after the fire is extinguished. However, it appears that the strong winds blowing in the area are pushing the fire away from the settlement and directing it toward the mountain, into a ravine that is hampering the firefighters’ efforts.
