The Fire Department’s operation on Mount Olympus to assist a 34-year-old foreign national, who was injured in a remote area near the location “Spilia Ithakisiou.”

The Fire Department’s Operations Center was notified of the incident at approximately 1:00 p.m., following a call to 112. The man’s location was immediately pinpointed, and a total of 11 firefighters were dispatched, along with three fire trucks, from the 2nd and 8th Special Rescue Units, as well as from the Litochoro Fire Department.
The firefighters located the 34-year-old injured man and approached the site using the necessary mountaineering equipment. They then safely transported him to an accessible location, where he was picked up by an EKAB ambulance.
The operation was completed on Saturday afternoon with the safe transport of the injured man to receive the necessary medical care.
