Police officers in Kypseli were confronted with a horrific sight when they opened a suitcase and found a dead infant inside a container.
It all began after an Airbnb host in central Athens reported that the guests who had rented the house were refusing to leave and were not paying the agreed-upon rent, noting that they were using drugs.
According to information from protothema.gr, DIAS patrol cars were passing by the area when the owner stopped them and took them up to the apartment. Inside were the man of Greek descent who had rented the apartment, his 15-year-old daughter, and an Afghan man.
Inside the house, they found the two minor children and the owner’s German wife, who had filed the complaint with the Hellenic Police. Police officers seized two suitcases from the house and transported them to the police station.
According to the same reports, police officers at the station opened the suitcases and were confronted with a horrific sight: the dead infant inside a container. When questioned by the police, the owner’s German wife claimed that the infant was hers and that she had lost it eight months ago.
At the same time, reports indicate that the 15-year-old girl who was inside the house is pregnant, and the father of the child is believed to be the Afghan man.
A preliminary investigation into the incident is underway, and the prosecutor has been notified.
