Giorgos Mazonakis: Investigators are looking into whether he was administered a substance prior to the blood draw

Gaka sent the photo she deleted to an unknown recipient
ALPHANEWSLIVE

The investigation into the death of Giorgos Mazonakis is now focusing on a new and particularly critical area, as the analysis of the evidence progresses, the indications being examined by the authorities—regarding whether he was administered any substance before or during his plasmapheresis—are becoming stronger.

So far, no specific drug or substance has been identified; this will become clear from the toxicology reports. According to information available to protothema.gr, this particular possibility is now being investigated with particular care.

The crucial issue is that, if it is proven that a specific substance from the category under investigation was used, its administration would have to take place under specific medical conditions and in the presence of a cardiologist and an anesthesiologist.

The investigators are thus attempting to determine not only exactly what happened during the plasmapheresis procedure, but also what occurred before the singer was connected to the machine.

The blurred photo in which Mazonakis appears to be sleeping
In this light, one of the two photos recovered from Ioanna Gaka’s cell phone takes on particular significance. In one image, Giorgos Mazonakis appears lying on the bed where the bloodletting was taking place, looking as if he were asleep.

The photo had been deleted from the doctor’s cell phone that same afternoon, before she and Ilias Theodoropoulos were summoned by the police to give statements.

The image is yet another piece of evidence that the authorities are adding to the rest of the case file and attempting to interpret in conjunction with the toxicology tests, witness statements, and digital evidence.

One of the photos had been shared
As protothema.gr revealed yesterday, the Criminal Investigation Division identified digital traces of sharing for one of the photos that had been found deleted on Gaka’s device.

This means that authorities have evidence that the image was sent or shared, though they do not yet know for certain who the recipient was. According to the information being examined, it is not considered a given that the photo was sent to the doctor’s husband.

The answer is expected to come through the process of lifting telephone privacy, as further technical analysis of the specific communication data requires a relevant court order.

Investigators want to know to whom the image was sent, at what time it was sent, through which app, and whether there was any accompanying conversation.

This information could prove crucial in determining why the photo was taken and why it was subsequently deleted.

The investigation into the AI
searches continues.
Meanwhile, the Hellenic Police is continuing its efforts to recover and accurately decode the searches allegedly conducted via an artificial intelligence tool during the critical moments.

The main objective is to determine who used the system, at what time, exactly what they typed, and what responses they received.

Previous evidence had indicated that searches were conducted regarding how a patient might recover, while the investigation is now attempting to determine the exact content of those queries.

Timestamping is considered extremely important: police want to determine whether these specific searches were conducted after the machine’s initial alerts, after treatment was discontinued, or when Mazonakis’s condition had already deteriorated dramatically.

The cell phones of the three employees
are crucial
Great importance is now also being placed on the cell phones of three clinic employees, which may provide additional evidence regarding what happened before, during, and after the incident.

Authorities are searching the devices for communications, messages, calls, photos, videos, and other digital traces that may help reconstruct the timeline.

Of particular interest is whether there were any communications between the staff and the two doctors as the singer’s condition was deteriorating, as well as whether any material was exchanged after the incident.

The examination of the three cell phones may also corroborate or refute evidence that has already emerged from Ioanna Gaka’s cell phone and the clinic’s computer.
