New details regarding the circumstances of Giorgos Mazonakis’s death during plasmapheresis treatment at the clinic on Karneadou Street have emerged from the testimonies of the 56-year-old nurse and hypnotherapist Nasos Komianos before the 42nd regular investigating judge. The nurse reportedly revealed that in her initial testimony she had given a different arrival time for the singer, because that was the instruction she had received from the doctor.

“I said in my first statement that Mazonakis arrived at the clinic at 3:30 p.m. because that was the line the doctor had given us. I arrived at the clinic at 3 p.m., I didn’t know what time the singer arrived; he was already inside when I got there,” the 56-year-old reportedly stated as she walked through the door of the investigator’s office yesterday.

She also referred to what happened at the clinic after 4 p.m., describing two phone calls, the second of which concerned the defibrillator that wasn’t working.

“Everything was fine until 4 p.m. The first phone call was made to the anesthesiologist between 4:00 and 4:10 p.m. The second call was made immediately afterward to the man from whom we had obtained the defibrillator. The question was why the defibrillator wasn’t working, and the man explained to us that it had to be charged!” he said.

What the nurse testified about the clinic’s equipment

In her testimony, the 56-year-old further claimed that she was unaware that the clinic’s equipment was illegal, nor that a specific protocol had to be followed. As she stated, the doctor was the one who gave the instructions.

“I had no idea that the equipment in the clinic was illegal. How am I supposed to know if something is legal or not? We didn’t know that any protocol had to be followed. The doctor was the one who always gave the instructions, and I had no idea about everything that happened. We thought everything was legal.”

Her testimony is being added to the evidence the investigator is examining regarding what happened at the Karneadou clinic, where the singer lost his life during treatment.

The phone calls to the hypnotherapist and the meeting in Psychiko

Sleep therapist Nasos Komianos also appeared before the 42nd regular investigator on the morning of Monday, September 21, who described how the communication began leading up to his meeting with Giorgos Mazonakis.

According to his alleged testimony, the first phone call came from a manager on August 27 at 11:02 a.m.

“He told me to meet with Giorgos Mazonakis so he could undergo hypnotherapy,” she said, adding, “I initially refused to take the case because of his history at Dromokaiteio.”

As he described, further communications followed until the appointment was finalized.

“On the same day, at around 1:30 p.m., I received a second call from the manager, who insisted on the meeting. On September 2, around 1:00 p.m., my manager called me again and told me about a meeting with Giorgos Mazonakis.”

The meeting was originally scheduled for September 8, but it ultimately took place one day earlier.

“I accepted, and the appointment was initially set for Tuesday, September 8, but it was changed again to Monday, September 7, so it’s taking place at 5 p.m. at a restaurant in Psychiko,” the hypnotherapist explained.

Mr. Komianos also referred to the communication that, as he knew, took place between the doctor and the singer regarding the cost and the treatments, as well as a message he himself had sent to the doctor.

“After the meeting, I know that the doctor contacted Giorgos Mazonakis and they agreed on the fees and the treatments. The doctor explained to him exactly what she would do.

In a message to the doctor on Tuesday morning, I wrote, ‘I’ll put pressure on him,’ referring to my own appointment for Wednesday afternoon,” he said.
