A large crowd has already begun to gather at the Holy Monastery of the Holy Trinity in Nikaia, where the body of George Mazonakis will lie in state from 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, until Monday morning, so that friends, relatives, and a multitude of his fans may pay their final respects.
The funeral service will be held at the church at 1:00 p.m. on Monday and will be open to the public, as the family’s attorney clarified in an interview with ERT.

Fans have arrived from various parts of Greece to bid farewell to the great singer, and buses began arriving early in the afternoon.
“We’ve come a very long way for Giorgos, all the way from Amaliada. We just couldn’t not come—it was impossible for us. I came with my children,” says a fan who traveled to Athens to pay her respects to the artist.
