According to the latest findings of the police investigation, the 48-year-old man had been lying in wait inside his car for the 45-year-old woman who was murdered early Sunday morning in Nea Smyrni.
The man, of Albanian descent like the victim, is alleged to have been waiting for the 45-year-old woman at 3 Grigoriou Kydonion Street, outside the apartment building where she lives with her daughter. When he saw her coming out of the building, he got out of his car, approached her, and shot her with a revolver.

The woman was shot and collapsed at the entrance to the apartment building. Immediately afterward, according to the authorities’ account of events, the 48-year-old man took his own life.The revolver was found near the man’s body.
