An investigation has been underway since Thursday afternoon at the medical office on Karneadou Street in Kolonaki.
Police officers arrived at the scene accompanied by a prosecutor and the lawyers for the two accused doctors, and are searching the premises for additional evidence that may shed light on thecircumstances surrounding the death of Giorgos Mazonakis.

The focus is on the safe deposit box
A bank safe deposit box in Kolonaki is now at the center of the high-profile case that began with the death of Giorgos Mazonakis and has evolved into an extensive investigation into illegal medical activities and potential earnings of millionseuros.
What might be hidden inside it? Money, valuables, important documents, or something else? Its contents remain unknown. What is certain is that this specific safe deposit box has come under the scrutiny of the Anti-Money Laundering Authority, which has given the “green light” to open, inspect, and document whatever may be stored inside it.
The safe deposit box is linked to two individuals at the center of the investigation, Ilias Theodoropoulos and Ioanna Gaka, who ran a shared medical practice at 11 Karneadou Street in Kolonaki. Their professional activities came under investigation following the death of Giorgos Mazonakis.
A month later, on October 9, the case took a new turn. The president of the Money Laundering Authority, Honorary Deputy Prosecutor of the Supreme Court Charalambos Vourliotis, signed Order No. 59, ordering the freezing of the two doctors’ assets. Among the bank accounts, investment securities, and financial products being frozen, there is a specific mention of a safe deposit box at a bank branch in Kolonaki. On the last page of the six-page order, the Authority grants prior consent to the partial lifting of the freeze, exclusively for this specific safe deposit box, in order to allow for an inspection of its contents.
