The authorities are methodically continuing to dismantle the “Entik” criminal group linked to the hit contracts against the “Greek Mafia.” Two more individuals—a 49-year-old and a 37-year-old, known by the nicknames “Pitbull” and “Bulldog”—are now in the custody of the Hellenic Police.
The two men were arrested yesterday, Friday (August 7), at a gas station in Palaio Faliro by officers from the Organized Crime Division.
An arrest warrant was outstanding against the 49-year-old for the crimes of criminal organization and extortion, while the 37-year-old was arrested and charged with harboring a criminal.
The 49-year-old’s criminal history
The 49-year-old was a member of the “Entik” extortion ring, and according to reports, he had previously come to the attention of authorities in 2010 in connection with a bank robbery and hostage-taking incident in Piraeus.

The suspect has a criminal record for forming a criminal organization, multiple robberies committed in concert with others, attempted murder, attempted robbery, grand theft, unlawful detention, and violation of the “Weapons Act.”
He is accused of being a member of a criminal organization that was dismantled in March 2025 and was involved in the manufacture and trafficking of large quantities of contraband tobacco products in Athens, Thessaloniki, and other regions of the country.
The 37-year-old had been imprisoned twice
The 37-year-old was also charged with participating in the same criminal organization; he had been arrested pursuant to a warrant in August 2025.
He had served six years in prison and was arrested again in August 2025, as a fugitive, for participating in a criminal organization involved in extortion, for which he was imprisoned until this past March, when he was released on probation.
“Pitbull” and “Bulldog”
The two men appear to have been known in mafia circles as “Pitbull” and “bulldog,” due to the ferocity they allegedly displayed during their attacks on rivals, as well as during their extortion of businesspeople.
In fact, following the murder of Yiannis Skaftouros in Boeotia, the two are alleged to have extorted a well-known businessman, obtaining approximately one million euros.
It should be noted that just 24 hours ago, another 31-year-old man was arrested in Germany under a European arrest warrant as an operative of the organization.
