The investigation into the death of Giorgos Mazonakis is in full swing, and according to the Hellenic Police spokesperson, the involvement of a third party cannot be ruled out.
In statements to SKAI, Konstantia Dimoglidou discussed the progress of the investigation, emphasizing that the police intervened on their own initiative when they were informed that the singer had been taken to the hospital already dead.
“Essentially, we arrived at the hospital when we were informed that this man had been transported from a private residence, already dead. That is precisely why the police intervened on their own initiative—to investigate the circumstances surrounding a person’s death in a private location. Whether it is a doctor’s office or a residence, this is standard procedure in every case. That is how the investigation began.”

“We said from the very beginning that what the police officers found along the way differed from what the doctors had initially stated in their sworn testimonies as witnesses that first night. Subsequently, additional evidence emerged from digital evidence,” he stated.
As he noted, the process regarding the digital evidence is also ongoing. “The Criminal Investigation Division submitted two reports to the investigating judge. This process involving the digital evidence is still ongoing,” he noted.

The Hellenic Police spokesperson left open the possibility that another individual might emerge from the investigation, as the process of lifting confidentiality is currently underway. “We’ll have to wait because we can’t rule out the possibility that there is anyone else involved in any way. If they provided any assistance to the two defendants who are currently in pretrial detention,” he stated.
