An alarm was raised at noon on Saturday (July 18) in Kypseli when a suspicious suitcase was found in an abandoned building on Evelpidon Street. An investigation by the Hellenic Police revealed that the suitcase contained the decomposed remains of a woman.
The suitcase was found by a homeless person, who alerted the authorities. Police officers who rushed to the scene confirmed that the suitcase contained the woman’s body, which was in an advanced state of decomposition. According to reports, the woman was wearing shorts.
The area was immediately cordoned off so that the necessary investigations could be conducted and evidence collected by the forensic teams, while a forensic examination is pending to determine the woman’s identity, the time of death, and the exact causes.

According to a local resident, the abandoned building had been open until about two years ago and served as a shelter for the homeless. However, it was sealed off after a fire. He also reported that he had seen a homeless person staying in the wider area in recent weeks, but has not seen him again in the last few days.
The Organized Crime Division has taken over the case, and the investigation is in full swing.
