A new discovery in Galatsi Park is at the center of the investigation into the disappearance of 50-year-old Chinese translator Yu Ting. The item in question is her passport, which, according to reports, was found cut into thin strips, and its condition indicated that it had been exposed to the elements and sunlight for an extended period of time.
The travel document was discovered nearly four months after the 50-year-old’s disappearance, who went missing on May 20, 2026, from Artemida, where she lived with her Greek husband.

The condition of the passport suggests that it had been at that location for quite some time. The find was turned over to forensic laboratories, where it is being examined to confirm her identity with certainty.
Meanwhile, a search was conducted in the Galatsi area, with authorities looking for any other evidence that could be linked to Yu Ting’s disappearance.
Of particular significance is the fact that the passport was found in a different area from the 50-year-old woman’s cell phone, which had been located in central Athens.
The investigation into Yu Ting’s disappearance remains in full swing, with the participation of Greek and Chinese authorities, as well as Interpol, in an effort to gather evidence that could shed light on what happened to the 50-year-old.
In this context, investigators are also examining the route she is believed to have taken along Patission Street, in the area of Amerikis Square. That is where her last known trace was found, and for this reason, this specific location is of particular interest to the investigation.
Among the evidence added to the case is a recent statement from a woman in Thessaloniki. This witness reportedly knows individuals who may be connected to the 50-year-old woman’s disappearance.
