A 46-year-old man is headed to prison after he, on Sunday afternoon (September 20) in Stylida, Fthiotida, slapped a 10-year-old boy in the middle of the street and threatened both the child and his mother with a pocket knife.
The Summary Court sentenced him to three years in prison without probation for the unprovoked attack on the child and his mother.

In fact, it was decided that the sentence would be served in full, as no suspension was granted, and his appeal was also denied suspensive effect, resulting in his immediate transfer to prison.
The Timeline
According to lamiareport, the attack took place on Sunday afternoon (September 20) outside the home where the 10-year-old boy and his 36-year-old mother live.
The 46-year-old man, as the mother reported, approached them and, for absolutely no reason, struck the child forcefully with his right hand, slapping him on the cheek.
Before they had a chance to recover from the perpetrator’s violent act, he pulled out a knife and began threatening both the terrified boy and his mother, causing a commotion in the neighborhood, before leaving the scene.
The Arrest
The 36-year-old mother immediately notified the Stylida Police Department, and officers rushed to the scene, to record the suspect’s description and begin a search to locate him.
Around 9:30 p.m. that same evening, the 46-year-old was located, and during the subsequent stop, he handed the folding knife over to the police, which was then confiscated.
Following the police investigation and the mother’s statement, the suspect was arrested on charges of causing bodily harm to vulnerable individuals, as well as violating weapons laws.
