The 6-year-old boy who was seriously injured in the traffic accident that occurred in Schinaria, Rethymno, was transferred to Athens on Wednesday evening, so that he could continue receiving treatment from a specialized medical team.
The 6-year-old boy was riding on a motorcycle with his father when, under circumstances that are under investigation, a collision with a car occurred.
The child was initially transported to Rethymno Hospital, where he underwent a lengthy surgical procedure, as he had suffered a serious leg injury and an open fracture, with doctors fighting to save his limb.
According to neakriti, the child’s condition was deemed manageable in terms of his life, however, the injury to his lower limb was particularly severe, leading doctors to decide to arrange an airlift to Athens for further treatment.
