Authorities were alerted to the body of a woman found floating in the Corinth Canal shortly after 8 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15.

According to korinthostv.gr, Coast Guard officers who arrived at the scene found the woman floating in the water. They pulled her out of the water and brought her ashore, where she was picked up by an EKAB ambulance and transported to the Corinth Health Center, where she was pronounced dead. The woman was between 40 and 45 years old; no further details are known.
The Second Isthmia Port Police Station of the Corinth Port Authority is conducting a preliminary investigation, and an autopsy has been ordered by the Forensic Medical Service.
