The Hellenic Police arrested a 24-year-old Palestinian man in downtown Chania following a report of domestic violence.
The incident occurred around 8 p.m. in the area of Dimitrakaki Street, near the pedestrian walkway on Korai Street.

According to zarpanews.gr, a 17-year-old girl of Bulgarian descent reported that a 24-year-old man, with whom she allegedly had a previous relationship, locked her inside a residence. The minor’s cries for help apparently alerted local residents and neighbors, who notified the Hellenic Police.
According to the same reports, an EKAB ambulance also rushed to the scene. The minor was taken to the police station, where she gave a statement.
Police authorities proceeded to arrest the 24-year-old man, against whom a case is being filed for domestic violence.
