Police officers arrested a 45-year-old man in Nea Smyrni on Tuesday at noon, following a call from his wife to the Emergency Response Unit.
According to reports, the 35-year-old woman, a Georgian national, called the police at approximately 2:10 p.m., reporting that her husband was trying to enter the apartment building.
Police officers who rushed to the scene located the 45-year-old man, also a Georgian citizen. According to the same reports, the man attempted to hide and pretended not to know what had happened.
During the search, the officers found a revolver with six rounds of ammunition inside a small bag, as well as 11 additional rounds.
Charges were filed against the 45-year-old man for violations of firearms and immigration laws, as well as for domestic violence.
Charges for violating immigration laws were also filed against the 35-year-old woman because, according to reports, she did not have the necessary documents to legally remain in the country.
