New evidence regarding the case of Giorgos Mazonakis’s death has come to light, as CCTV footage shows that Dr. Ilias Theodoropoulos, owner of the Stem Cell clinic on Karneadou Street, had left the restaurant in Kolonaki at the very moment the singer went into cardiac arrest during the plasmapheresis procedure.
According to the testimony of the taxi driver who transported him, Giorgos Mazonakis arrived at the clinic at 1:55 p.m. and not at 4:00 p.m., as Ioanna Gaka claimed. The taxi driver’s testimony is also corroborated by the clinic’s secretary.
Mr. Theodoropoulos himself reportedly maintains that he had no involvement in the incident in question, as he was away from his clinic at the time. According to his account, he had three other appointments with patients that day, and at the time in question, he had left to go out to eat. As he reportedly claims, he was informed of the incident by his wife while he was away from the clinic and rushed back. In fact, he himself performed CPR on Mazonakis and administered two injections of epinephrine.

However, surveillance footage shows that Mr. Theodoropoulos, a physician and owner of Stem Cell, entered the restaurant at 1:59 p.m. and left at 2:43 p.m.

The timestamps matter. The lawyer for the late singer Charalambos Lykoudis, who spoke to ANT1 citing the case file, argued that Ioanna Gaka’s claim that the singer collapsed before the medical procedure took place. “The machine’s software showed that it was running for 42 minutes, and in fact, the start time was recorded as 14:12. Which means that 2:12 p.m. plus 42 minutes equals 2:54 p.m. This means that Giorgos Mazonakis had lost consciousness 1.5 hours before the ambulance was called. “This is terrible and horrifying. And for this to be done by doctors,” said Mr. Lykoudis.
Consequently, the Mazonakis family’s attorney asked the investigating judge to upgrade the charge from negligent homicide to manslaughter with possible intent.

As revealed by protothema.gr, Ilias Theodoropoulos and Ioanna Gaka, in the intervening period, they tried to erase all traces of Giorgos Mazonakis’s presence at the scene while simultaneously searching for ways to bring him back using artificial intelligence!
Added to this are the contradictions into which the two doctors, who are charged with a felony, have fallen.
One of these critical contradictions concerns the length of time Mazonakis remained in the room where the machine was located. Ioanna Gaka testified that the singer was in the treatment room for only a very short time and that the machine had not yet been turned on.

This version, however, is contradicted in the case file by the testimony of secretary M., according to whom Mazonakis had been in the treatment room for at least 42 minutes. The Hellenic Police itself characterizes this point as one of the key contradictions in the case.
A nurse at the clinic also testified that at approximately 3:00 p.m., the singer entered the facility, stayed for about half an hour in the doctor’s main office, and then went with her to the room containing the “INUS PHERESIS” machine, where the scheduled treatment was to take place.
Gaka herself, in her testimony, described how Mazonakis lay down on the bed, was hooked up to the vital signs monitors, and how she inserted an intravenous catheter into him. She claimed that, while she was attempting to insert a second IV catheter, cardiac arrest occurred and CPR was initiated.
