A 31-year-old man was arrested by the police, 31 years old, who is alleged to be involved in a series of robberies and thefts that have occurred in recent days in various areas of Thessaloniki.
He was arrested yesterday morning in Evangelistria following a swift intervention by a patrol car crew from the Thessaloniki Rapid Response Division. The officers spotted the man, an Albanian national, riding a motorcycle that had been reported stolen.
As soon as he noticed the officers, he sped up and attempted to flee. Shortly afterward, he abandoned the motorcycle and tried to escape on foot. However, the police officers managed to subdue and arrest him, despite the fierce resistance he reportedly put up.

The subsequent investigation by the Toumba–Triandria Crime Investigation and Prosecution Department revealed that, between August 18 and 23, allegedly committed three robberies against pedestrians using physical violence, as well as an equal number of thefts.
According to a police statement, the suspect stole a total of 238 euros in cash and five cell phones, while the thefts included two street thefts and the theft of the motorcycle on which he was found.
Charges were filed against him for repeated robbery, aggravated theft, and violence against public officials and judicial officers.
The suspect is expected to be brought before the public prosecutor.
