The police investigation in Katerini is in full swing, following the discovery of a woman’s body inside the home where she lived, with initial evidence leaving open the possibility of a criminal act.
According to initial reports, the woman was found lying on her back inside the home, suffering from a severe head injury. This led authorities to immediately mobilize all available resources to investigate the circumstances of her death.
The evidence found at the scene is also considered crucial. Specifically, police officers found footprints in bloodstains, and a piece of cloth with bloodstains was found a short distance from the body, evidence that is expected to be thoroughly examined.
To clarify the circumstances of the case, the assistance of a medical examiner from Thessaloniki has been requested; he will be asked to assess whether the injuries sustained by the woman indicate a criminal act. So far, there has been no official statement regarding the exact cause of death; however, the evidence gathered to date is directing the investigation in that direction.
Meanwhile, police authorities are continuing to gather evidence and take statements from the wider area, seeking information that could help fully resolve the case and shed light on the circumstances under which the unfortunate woman lost her life.
