“I stabbed him with a knife to break the ice”: The 43-year-old’s claim regarding the infant’s death in Kypseli is shocking

He is appearing in court today along with the 38-year-old German woman and the 26-year-old Afghan man on drug possession charges

The shocking claim that the stab wounds found on the back of the infant—who was discovered dead in a suitcase in an apartment in Kypseli—were inflicted when… he was trying to remove the ice that had formed on the body because it had been in the freezer for a long time, was reportedly put forward by the 43-year-old Greek man, in an attempt to respond to evidence suggesting that the 9-month-old boy was murdered.

According to police sources, the 43-year-old—as well as the 38-year-old German woman—insist that the child was born with health problems, died of natural causes in 2023, and was subsequently placed in the freezer.

In an attempt, in this context, to justify the medical examiner’s findings—which indicated more than 10 stab wounds to the infant’s back— the 43-year-old reportedly said that when they went to thaw the infant, he struck the ice covering the body with a knife to break it, and that is where the knife marks came from.

However, police are treating this claim with skepticism, as the 43-year-old man and the 38-year-old woman have given conflicting accounts regarding the circumstances under which the little boy died, with the man claiming he was not at home when the fatal incident occurred—a claim the woman also makes about herself (i.e., that she was not at home).

They admit to drug use

Today, however, the 43-year-old Greek man, the 38-year-old German woman, and the 26-year-old Afghan man who were arrested in the apartment in Kypseli will appear in court to answer charges of a felony involving drug trafficking and a misdemeanor involving failure to report the discovery of a dead body.

However, it cannot be ruled out that they may also face charges of homicide today, based on the findings of the medical examiner, who determined that the infant’s death was caused by knife wounds.
