According to the police, the charred remains found last night while firefighters were extinguishing a fire in a passenger car and nearby low vegetation on the shoulder of the Egnatia Highway at the “Mavrachomata” location, in Oreokastro, Thessaloniki.
According to police reports, the 30-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle under circumstances that remain unclear at this time and crashed into a Public Power Corporation (PPC) utility pole near the Oreokastro toll plaza.
