A 52-year-old worker died tragically on Wednesday afternoon in Thessaloniki when he was crushed by a pipe weighing one metric ton.
The accident occurred around 2:00 p.m. at a construction company’s worksite in Evosmos. Under circumstances that are under investigation, the forklift operator was fatally injured while loading pipes, and one of them—weighing approximately one metric ton—crushed him.
The man was transported by an EKAB ambulance to Ippokratio Hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
