The rescue operation launched today on Mount Olympus ended tragically after a climber fell into a rugged ravine.
According to reports, the victim was a 40-year-old man who was found unconscious and is now confirmed dead.
The authorities were alerted at 1:20 p.m., when they received a report that the climber had fallen in a particularly inaccessible area of Mount Olympus.

The location where the 40-year-old was found is particularly difficult to access, making the rescue operation extremely challenging. To locate and rescue him, units from the 2nd and 8th EMAK were mobilized and rushed to the area.
The exact circumstances under which the 40-year-old climber ended up in the ravine are under investigation.
