A 35-year-old mother was arrested in Kos after her 3-year-old child was seriously injured; the child was found unconscious inside a parked car.
The incident, which was initially treated as an accident, has turned into a police investigation, as authorities are looking into the circumstances under which the child was found alone outside the home and trapped inside the vehicle.
According to reports, the child is said to have wandered away from home unnoticed and made his way to his mother’s car, which was parked nearby.
There, under circumstances that are under investigation, the 3-year-old’s head became trapped between the window and the door frame of the vehicle, causing him to lose consciousness.
Emergency medical services were immediately dispatched, and due to the seriousness of the situation, it was decided to airlift the child to a hospital outside Kos for specialized care. No further information regarding his condition has been released at this time.
Police authorities arrested the 35-year-old mother, against whom charges were filed for endangering a minor.
