The Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Evangelos Tournas, traveled to Kouvaras, where he met with firefighters operating on the ground and was briefed on the fire’s progress.
According to the latest update from the fire department, the situation regarding the fire that broke out in low vegetation in Kouvaras, Attica, today, August 10, 2026, at approximately 8:00 a.m., has improved, and strong ground and aerial forces are now tackling numerous smoke-emitting hotspots within the fire’s perimeter.
As reported, the flames destroyed the facilities of a poultry farm near the village of Agios Stylianos.

It should be noted that two alerts were issued by 112 this morning calling for the evacuation of Agios Stylianos residents, while the fire department notes that the area is currently at very high risk of a fire breaking out (category 4) and the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection emphasized that today is characterized by increased risk, with the first fire breaking out before 8:00 a.m., in a particularly vulnerable area with settlements and homes.
