Video footage of the crash of the firefighting helicopter in the Metsovo area, specifically at Lake Aoos.

The helicopter took off from Ioannina Airport to assist in fighting a fire near Grevena.

As you will see in the video footage released by Mega, the helicopter touched the water while scooping up water; it was then unable to gain altitude, and when it lost balance, it sank. In fact, due to the speed the rotors were still traveling at, a small-scale explosion occurred.

Video footage shows the moment the firefighting helicopter crashed into Lake Aoos in Metsovo.

The helicopter was participating in firefighting operations, but a problem arose during refueling, and it was unable to take off.
